Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Location: Bristol (South)
 Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
 Pay: £110 per day
 Contract Type: Temporary with potential for long-term opportunities
 Hours: School hours (ad hoc and full-time availability welcomed)

About the Role

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a welcoming primary school in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development within a classroom setting.

The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers to support pupils both academically and socially, helping to create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with their learning, both one-to-one and in small groups
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
Providing additional support to pupils who may need extra guidance
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting social development
Helping to create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
Supporting pupils during transitions, playtimes, and school routines
Communicating effectively with staff, pupils, and other professionals
Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are always followed

Requirements

Experience working with children (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
A supportive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
Right to work in the UK
