Job Description

Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Southend Salary Scale: £93–£120 per day (Depending on Experience) Contract Type: Full-time GSL are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support students within a SEND school setting. This role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential. You will support students with a range of learning needs and abilities, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every young person can thrive and succeed. If you are an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker, Sports Coach, Graduate, or someone looking to begin a rewarding career in education, we would love to hear from you. You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including: • In-class support across a variety of subjects • One-to-one and small group interventions • Literacy and numeracy support • Behaviour support and positive relationship building • Exam preparation and coursework support • Enrichment activities, educational visits, and wider school events As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic progress, engagement, and wellbeing. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and other professionals to help students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
