Support, Inspire, and Empower Young Learners A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ipswich is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and committed to helping children reach their full potential. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, working alongside class teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning while contributing to the wider success of the school community. The Role Working closely with teaching staff and other support professionals, you will provide targeted support to pupils within the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions. You will help to deliver engaging learning activities, monitor pupil progress, and contribute to an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners while gaining valuable experience within a supportive and collaborative educational setting. Requirements A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learners Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Desirable Skills Previous experience working within a primary school environment Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Ability to deliver effective one-to-one and small group interventions Understanding of strategies to support positive behaviour and engagement Confidence supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development Knowledge of the primary curriculum and classroom practices Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learning needs Qualifications Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable) Qualification in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, Psychology, or a related discipline GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) Relevant SEND, safeguarding, or behaviour management training would be advantageous Applicants with transferable experience and a strong commitment to education are encouraged to apply Benefits of Working with Protocol Education Protocol Education has been supporting schools and education professionals for over 30 years, establishing a reputation as one of the UK's leading education recruitment specialists.
