Job Description
TeacherActive are proud to be working with a primary school in the Swansea area. The Head Teacher is looking to recruit a full- time Teaching Assistant from April 2025. The successful candidate will be supporting a Reception aged pupil on a one-to-one basis in an alternative education setting. You will play a vital role in supporting an Autistic pupil who isn’t currently able to access mainstream education. This specialised programme offers a lifeline to pupils who may be facing significant or complex challenges from social and emotional needs. You will be naturally empathetic and creative to engage the pupil because they will following be an alternative curriculum. The main purpose of the role to improve pupil motivation, self-confidence, and engagement with education in a safe and secure environment.
TeacherActive are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:
Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
Will have relevant experience of working with ALN pupils and following Individual Development Plans
Will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
Responsible for working with an individual pupil and appropriately identifying the pupil’s personal, social and academic needs.
Will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion
Can plan, prepare and promote constructive play during the lunchtime period
