About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school on a full-time, term-time only basis. This is a temporary to permanent position, ideal for someone looking to develop their career in education with the view of securing a permanent role in the future. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils' learning, emotional well-being, and development. You will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their potential in a safe and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
Work with individual pupils or small groups to provide targeted support, including children with SEND.
Assist with classroom management and organisation.
Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
Promote good behaviour and a positive learning environment.
Contribute to the assessment and recording of pupil progress.
Supervise children during non-classroom activities such as break times and school trips.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is desirable.
A passion for education and a desire to make a difference in children's lives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach to working in a team.
A commitment to the school's safeguarding and child protection policies.
Willingness to develop professionally and potentially take on a permanent role if offered.
Essential Requirements:
Availability to work Monday to Friday, term-time only.
A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
References covering the last two years of employment/education.
