Teaching Assistant – Empowering Students to Achieve Excellence
About the Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the support team of a dynamic and caring Secondary School in Wallasey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the development of students in a safe, supportive, and secure environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the learning journey of young people while supporting their well-being and growth.
Working closely with students across the school, your role will be to understand each student’s specific needs, helping them to learn as effectively as possible. This position is 32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term-time plus INSET days, holidays to be taken in non-term time).
Key Responsibilities:

Promote students’ development in a safe, secure, and inclusive environment.

Support students with physical or medical needs, following individual care plans and encouraging independence. This may include administering medication or providing medical assistance once appropriate training has been given.

Develop a deep understanding of each student’s specific needs to ensure effective learning and engagement.
*
Encourage inclusion in the classroom, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.
*
Display students' work to celebrate their achievements and build confidence.
*
Assist with personal hygiene and self-help tasks (feeding, dressing, toileting, etc.) where needed.
*
Facilitate small group interventions such as homework clubs, social skills sessions, and other SEND-related activities, as directed by the SENDCO.
