Job Description

Horizon Teachers are happy to be working closely with a primary school in the borough of Wandsworth assisting their search for a full time EYFS teaching assistant, supporting children in nursery and reception, to join their school from September 2025 for the full academic year. This is a 1-form entry school that believes in making the school a child centred where children are supported to enjoy and achieve to their highest ability. This is an inclusive and supportive environment for all students that are open to aligning with parents and carers to make the best of each students' education As an EYFS teaching assistant, you will be expected to do the following: Assisting students in their educational and social development. Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities and learn independence. Support teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner. This role may involve some personal care especially in the nursery setting, which may include caring for the children which is not limited to nappy changing, feeding and hygiene care. What we're looking for from you: It is important to have a genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development. Must have previous experience working with children in EYFS or Primary settings Understanding play-based learning and how it is used to support children's development Understanding of relevant safeguarding procedures Fine with personal care Qualifications are not essential, but holding any type of childcare qualifications are bonus Why work with Horizon Teachers?
