Job Description
1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD Support – Part Time) – NG16
Location: Nottinghamshire, NG16
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Part-time, Term Time (3 days per week)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £95 – £105 per day
Class Mate is working with a fantastic primary school in the NG16 area to recruit a committed and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This part-time role begins in September and is ideal for someone seeking meaningful work with a flexible schedule.
The Role:
*
Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD in a KS1 setting
*
Encouraging emotional regulation and engagement with learning
*
Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement routines and visual support strategies
*
Supporting social development and building a positive, trusting relationship
*
Creating a calm, structured learning environment tailored to the child’s needs
Ideal Candidate:
*
Experience supporting children with ASD or other additional needs
*
Calm, nurturing and consistent approach
*
Able to use visual aids, now/next boards, or similar strategies
*
Confident working both independently and as part of a team
*
SEN training or qualifications are a bonus, but not essential
