Teaching Assistant Location: Leicestershire, LE18 Salary: £95-£105 per day Contract Type: Long-term to Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm Start Date: September 2025 (Interviews/Trial Days Happening ASAP) Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in LE18, Leicestershire, which supports fewer than 100 pupils aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support, you will play a vital role in providing personalised support to students in a small, nurturing environment. You'll work closely with teaching staff to help pupils manage their behaviour, develop essential social skills, and engage positively with their learning. Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support Role: Deliver 1-1 and group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Support students in managing their emotions and behaviours using calm, consistent approaches. Help maintain a safe and supportive environment where students feel valued. Collaborate with the school team to develop and follow personalised learning and behaviour plans. Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence, and key life skills. Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning. What We're Looking For in a Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support: Experience working with children who have SEMH or special educational needs (SEN). A background in working in any capacity with children/young people is essential e.g. Youth Work, Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, Residential Care, Social Work, Probation Worker or Youth Offending.
