Teaching Assistant - SEN Provision - Deptford Primary School - ASAP Start Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting? A welcoming primary school in Deptford is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated SEN provision. This rewarding Teaching Assistant role offers an ASAP start and long-term opportunity for the right candidate. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and three other experienced LSAs in a well-supported class of 10-12 pupils with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and social-emotional challenges. This is a highly structured provision room tailored to meet the needs of pupils who benefit from smaller group environments, sensory breaks, and individualised routines. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have long-term SEN experience, a calm and resilient nature, and a genuine passion for inclusive education. Psychology graduates who want to put their theoretical knowledge into practice in a real-world classroom setting are strongly encouraged to apply. Key responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant: Support the class teacher in delivering structured, differentiated lessons Provide targeted support to pupils with ASD, SEMH, and related needs Collaborate effectively with a team of three other LSAs Implement strategies from EHCPs and behaviour plans Foster emotional regulation, independence, and engagement The successful Teaching Assistant will have: Previous long-term SEN experience in a school setting Strong communication and teamwork skills A proactive and empathetic approach to learning support Psychology degree (desirable but not essential) An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one) This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEN and ready to support some of Deptford's most inspiring young learners.
