Contract: Full-time, Part-time, and Ad-hoc (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm)
Overview
Vetro Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in New Tredegar. This role involves working across both the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, supporting learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) through a mix of 1:1 and small group support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment, helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN and ALN.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement personalised support plans.
Assist with classroom differentiation and adapt learning materials as required.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory processing, and behavioural needs.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Track and report on pupil progress to ensure effective interventions.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 3 months' experience supporting children with SEN/ALN in a school or equivalent setting.
Sound understanding of additional needs such as autism, ADHD, sensory difficulties, and behaviour challenges.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
A commitment to continuous professional development and teamwork.
Essential Compliance
Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one).
EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration as a Learning Support Worker.
Right to work in the UK.
