Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: M21, Manchester
Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP if available)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential to go permanent)
Reeson Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in the M21 area of Manchester. This Teaching Assistant role will involve working with pupils aged 11 to 16 who are accessing alternative provision due to SEMH, behavioural, and complex learning needs. Some pupils are working at a primary level, so a flexible, adaptive, and nurturing approach is essential.
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will be delivering engaging and interactive learning activities, both 1:1 and in small groups. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, emotionally intelligent Teaching Assistant who can build trust, model positivity, and genuinely care about helping young people who may be struggling in education.

Key responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant role:
* Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, SLCN, and behavioural needs
* Working with students aged 11-16 (some learning at primary level)

* Promoting self-regulation, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing
* Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff to maintain consistency
* Using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches where needed
* Encouraging pupils to re-engage with education and discover their potential
