We’re looking for a dynamic Learning Support Assistant to join an Alternative Provision school in Liverpool, supporting secondary-aged students on a 1:1 basis who have struggled in mainstream education. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a coaching background or a strong interest in sport, especially football, who wants to use their skills to motivate, inspire, and support students in both their academic and personal development. What You’ll Be Doing: Providing dedicated 1:1 support to students, helping them re-engage with learning and build confidence. Supporting students with additional needs (such as ADHD) and challenging behaviour using personalised strategies. Encouraging social, emotional, and academic growth through consistent, hands-on support. Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where students feel valued and understood. What We’re Looking For: A sports enthusiast or coach who thrives on using physical activity as a way to connect with and inspire young people. Someone who is resilient, patient, and skilled at managing behaviour in a calm, positive manner. A natural relationship-builder who can engage even the most disengaged students. Experience working with young people in alternative provision, SEN, or youth support is highly beneficial. Ideal Skills & Experience: Previous work in a school, youth work, or coaching role (particularly with secondary-age students). A strong understanding of how to support students with additional needs and emotional/behavioural challenges. Creativity, initiative, and a team-player attitude.
