The Role – Teaching Assistant
This is a full-time role supporting a class of around 10 pupils with Autism within a dedicated SEND Resource Base in a mainstream primary school. The pupils are aged between Reception and Year 3 and require a consistent, structured approach to learning and behaviour support. You will work alongside a skilled teacher and a team of support staff to help deliver tailored learning activities, promote communication, and assist with daily routines. Experience with Autism, sensory processing needs, and non-verbal communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton is highly desirable.The role would suit someone who is calm, patient, and confident working in a structured SEND environment.
