Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are looking for an engaging teaching assistant to support the class teacher. You will be responsible for supporting the teacher with the pupils learning and development, in one of our Early years classroom in a Primary school in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their progress and development inside and outside the classroom.
About the Role:
1:1 support for a non verbal pupil with a focus on support and personal care.
Stretching and challenging the learning and progress of all pupils in a group setting and on a 1-1 basis.
Building positive relationships with pupils and the class teacher to create excellent learning environments.
Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with childrenAbout the School:
The role is based in an inspirational Primary School in Newcastle.
There is an opportunity for the role to be based working with students in EYFS.
The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils. About the role:
Location: Newcastle
Start Date: September start - long term opportunity with potential to turn permanent
Contract:Full-Time
Hours: 8:30-3:30
Pay: £440-£600 per week
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK.
Previous exposure to working with non verbal students
Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
Experience of Teaching within the UK
A genuine passion for Teaching
Strong organisation and communication skills
