SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN School
Location: Lambeth
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-Term (Temp to Perm Opportunity)
We are currently working with a nurturing and well-resourced primary SEN school in Lambeth that provides specialist support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive setting where your role will have a meaningful and lasting impact.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings
*
Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering accessible and engaging activities
*
Use a range of communication tools including visual aids, PECS, and Makaton
*
Help manage classroom behaviour using positive strategies
*
Support pupils with sensory needs and emotional regulation
*
Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment
*
Work closely with staff, therapists, and families to support each child’s progress

Previous experience working with children with SEN in a primary setting

Ability to adapt to individual needs and learning styles
