Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant
* Locations: Knutsford and Lymm, Cheshire
* Contract: Permanent - Monday to Friday Term time only
* Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm. There will be an occasional requirement to stay till 5pm on a Wednesday for internal training.
* Salary: £23,873.60 -£24,570 actual salary
* Own transport needed ideally
School Staffing Solutions are recruiting enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join a SEN school in both Knutsford and Lymm, Cheshire.
The schools support children and young people aged 4 years up to post 16 with either social, emotional and mental health needs or ASC with communication and sensory integration needs.
Your role:
* Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities
* Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management
* Support the management of behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies and de-escalation techniques.
* Encourage the development of students' independence, life skills, and communication.
* Provide emotional support to students, helping them build resilience and self-confidence.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and enriching classroom environment.
* Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning
* Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis
Our ideal candidate will be:
* A committed and passionate individual who will put the needs of the students first
* Good at building relationships with young people and understand their needs
* Have at least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar
* A level 2/ 3 TA qualification is advantageous
* Knowledge of Makaton or PECs
