The Role
Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development by creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
Help prepare resources, supervise play, and support children during daily routines and learning activities.
Encourage communication, early literacy, numeracy, and motor skill development through focused support and interaction.
Observe and report any welfare or safeguarding concerns promptly to ensure every child’s wellbeing.
Collaborate closely with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals to support each child’s individual progress and needs.
Maintain a positive and patient approach, adapting to the diverse needs of young learners and contributing to a supportive team atmosphere.
The Ideal Candidate
A compassionate and enthusiastic individual passionate about supporting the early development of young children.
Experience working in an Early Years setting or similar role is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Patient, creative, and adaptable, with a genuine respect and fondness for young children.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, follow guidance, and contribute proactively to the classroom environment.
Awareness of safeguarding practices and a commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing.
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Early Years, or Teaching Assistance are an advantage but not always essential.
