SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (KS1)

A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Bridport is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with additional needs, starting in September 2025.
The Role:
Full-time position (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm), term-time only
Provide tailored, 1:1 support to a KS1 child with communication and social interaction difficulties
Implement structured routines, visual supports, and sensory strategies under guidance of SENCO & class teacher
Build a strong, trusting relationship to support emotional regulation and learning
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external specialists
✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEN (particularly Autism, SLCN or SEMH)
A calm, consistent and empathetic approach to behaviour
Strong communication skills and a team mindset
Relevant TA qualification or background in education/social care (desirable but not essential)
A current enhanced child workforce DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
