Reeson Education is working with a warm, welcoming primary school in the M17 area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team this September. This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be a key part of the school's inclusive ethos - working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who may have ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, social-emotional challenges, and more. You'll be supported by an experienced SENDCo and a collaborative staff team who value communication, consistency, and kindness.

Teaching Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:
Providing 1:1 and small group support across KS1 and KS2 as a Teaching Assistant
Assisting pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs
Supporting access to learning through tailored, individualised strategies
Leading phonics groups, reading sessions, and play-based learning
Creating a calm, positive learning environment as a Teaching Assistant
Helping pupils build confidence, routine, and emotional regulation
Supporting class teachers with behaviour, transitions, and classroom management
Communicating with staff and parents about progress and needs
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils as a Teaching AssistantTeaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEND in a school setting
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
Confidence in supporting across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 as a Teaching Assistant
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to inclusion and a belief in every child's potential
DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
