1:1 Teaching Assistant – September Start (Year 1, ASD Support)
Full-time | Term-time only | Fixed-term for the academic year
We are looking for a calm, consistent and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a girl in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a full-time role starting in September, supporting the pupil throughout the school day to ensure she can access learning, feel secure, and make good progress socially and academically.
About the Role

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a girl with ASD in a mainstream Year 1 class
*
Support her with transitions, attention and focus, social interaction and emotional regulation
*
Use visual supports, structured routines and clear communication to reduce anxiety and increase engagement
*
Work flexibly between whole-class, small-group and individual learning activities
*
Assist with sensory needs and implement strategies to support self-regulation
*
Liaise daily with the class teacher and regularly with the SENCo and external professionals
*
Maintain detailed notes to track progress towards EHCP and learning targets
*
Build a warm, trusting relationship to support her confidence and independence

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
