Job Description

Role: Teaching Assistant Location: M6, Salford Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour Start Date: September 2025 Duration: Long-term Reeson Education is looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a Year 6 pupil at a warm and inclusive primary school in the M6 area. This full-time Teaching Assistant position starts in September and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a child's final year of primary education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support a pupil with ASD, SEMH, and anxiety. The child is academically able but struggles with social engagement and confidence. Your role will involve supporting them in class and helping them develop their communication and social skills - giving them the tools to build friendships and prepare positively for secondary school. This is a brilliant opportunity for a nurturing Teaching Assistant who thrives on building trust, creating safe spaces, and empowering children to grow. The school has a highly experienced SENDCo and leadership team who will guide and support you throughout. Teaching Assistant - What You'll Be Doing: Supporting a Year 6 pupil with ASD, SEMH, and anxiety as a Teaching Assistant Helping the pupil manage anxiety and engage more confidently in class Working one-to-one to boost confidence, social skills, and emotional regulation Encouraging meaningful peer interaction and supporting friendship building Providing classroom assistance during lessons, transitions, and group work Supporting the class teacher with tailored strategies and gentle encouragement Creating a calm, consistent learning environment as a Teaching Assistant Promoting positive routines, resilience, and independence Acting as a trusted mentor and role model in the pupil's final yearTeaching Assistant - What We're Looking For: Experience working with children with SEN, especially ASD or SEMH A patient, positive and emotionally intelligent Teaching Assistant Strong communication and nurturing instincts Ability to provide calm, one-to-one support in a busy KS2 environment A consistent and reassuring presence for a child with anxiety DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) Available full-time from SeptemberWhy Apply for this Teaching Assistant Role?
