Job Description

Winner Education is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a reputable school that specialises in providing independent placements for children with special educational needs (SEN). This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people. The successful candidate will have prior experience supporting children with SEN and will be committed to helping each child reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment. LOCATION: Cheshire CH3 HOURS: Full-time | Monday – Friday | 08:30–15:30 Term Time Only START DATE: ASAP PAY RATE: £90 – £115 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate a strong understanding of school policies related to curriculum and assessment. Employ targeted intervention strategies to support pupils facing challenges in English and Maths. Apply effective techniques to enhance learning for each task or subject area. Develop a clear understanding of the individual needs of the pupils you support. Assist in delivering tailored educational plans that align with each child’s unique learning goals. Collaborate with the class teacher to set clear expectations and success criteria. Provide regular, constructive feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and engagement. Learning Support Duties: Supervise and assist pupils with SEND, ensuring they remain safe, engaged, and able to access learning materials. Support practical activities and utilise a range of educational resources. Promote active participation and peer interaction during lessons. Encourage the development of independence and foster an environment for self-directed learning. Accurately record pupil progress using the school’s assessment systems. Deliver timely feedback to pupils on their achievements, areas for improvement, and any arising concerns. Prepare and manage classroom resources and guide pupils in their use. Promote responsibility, resilience, and confidence among pupils. Uphold the school’s behaviour policies and encourage accountability and positive behaviour choices. Behaviour & Emotional Support: Implement strategies from Proact-SCIPr-UK® training within daily practice. Support Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and behaviour management strategies. Build positive, respectful relationships with pupils and assist in the resolution of peer conflicts. Encourage the development of healthy self-esteem and emotional wellbeing. Reinforce school-wide reward systems, praise, and motivational techniques. Use IT and classroom technologies to facilitate inclusive learning experiences. Professional Conduct & Collaboration: Foster strong, professional relationships with teachers, staff, and families. Communicate pupil concerns promptly to the relevant school personnel. Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to the school environment. Requirements: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience) Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with students, parents, and colleagues Familiarity with autism and a range of teaching and support methodologies Understanding of early childhood development and care Ability to tailor learning approaches to meet diverse individual needs Confidence supporting English language development and instruction Apply today to make a lasting impact and be part of a team that transforms lives through education
