Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Poole
Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning journey and making a meaningful impact in the classroom?
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Poole. This full-time role involves working as a general TA within a Year 6 class, starting in September 2025.
The school is looking for someone with previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who can bring empathy, patience, and a proactive attitude to the role.
Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA):
Provide general classroom support to the Year 6 teacher and pupils.
Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Support pupils with SEN to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
Foster a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Collaborate with school staff and SEN professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
Participate in school activities, training, and meetings as required.
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant (TA) Role:
Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
