About the role
As a Teaching Assistant in this diverse and inclusive school, you will work across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. Your focus will be on supporting pupils with additional learning needs, both in mainstream classrooms and within specialist ALN settings.
You will play a vital role in helping pupils to access the curriculum, build confidence and feel included in all aspects of school life.
Main responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Encourage independence and deliver personal care support where needed
Assist in managing behaviour positively and consistently
Help prepare learning resources and contribute to lesson delivery
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and the wider school team
Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils feel safe, supported and respected
What we are looking for
Previous experience working with children or young people in education or care
An interest in or knowledge of ALN strategies and inclusive teaching approaches
A calm, patient and adaptable attitude
Confidence in managing behaviour in a nurturing way
Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to supporting school values
A driving licence and access to transport is desirable but not essential
