Job Description

Job Title: KS1/KS2 Teaching Assistant Location: Selby Salary: £88.92-£100 per day Job Type: Full time Start Date: September 2025 We are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual to join the team at a lovely primary school located in Selby. This rewarding role involves working collaboratively with teaching staff, supporting pupils with diverse needs, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Helping to create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for the children. Key Responsibilities: Supporting Learning Activities Assist the teacher in delivering lessons. Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning. Help prepare learning materials and resources. Classroom Management Support the teacher in maintaining a positive learning environment. Help manage student behaviour and encourage engagement. Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and outings. Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities. Implement strategies from Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Liaise with SENCOs and other professionals. Administrative Support Help with record-keeping, such as attendance and progress tracking. Prepare displays and tidy up classrooms. Photocopying, filing, and other clerical tasks. Pastoral Care Offer emotional support and encouragement to students. Monitor student well-being and report concerns. Foster a safe and inclusive environment. Supervision Duties Oversee students during lunch, playtime, or on school trips. Ensure safety and appropriate behaviour outside the classroom. Requirements: A genuine passion for working with children. Friendly, reliable, and approachable with a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided). Previous experience in a childcare or school setting is desirable but not essential. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
