Teaching Assistant - Year 4 ADHD & Behaviour Support
Location: Hammersmith & Fulham (W12) - commutable from Shepherd's Bush, Acton, Chiswick, Ealing, Hammersmith
Pay: £95-£110 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, full academic year
Long Term Futures are supporting a nurturing yet well-disciplined primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham, who are seeking a compassionate and focused Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 class pupil with ADHD. The ideal candidate will combine a firm but fair approach with empathy to help manage impulsive behaviour, build concentration, and support emotional regulation.
About the Role
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help the pupil stay on task and engage in learning
Implement practical behaviour management strategies-balancing structure with positive reinforcement
Assist with transitions, routines, and emotional coaching to reduce anxiety and promote calm across the school day
Adapt and scaffold learning activities to align with the pupil's needs and increase accessibility
Collaborate with the school team to review progress and contribute to Individual Learning PlansIdeal Candidate Attributes
Proven experience supporting pupils with ADHD or attention difficulties
Able to build trust, set clear boundaries, and remain consistent under pressure
Strong communicator-firm but caring in approach
Understanding of anxiety in children and strategies to manage emotional dysregulation
