Teaching Assistant (1:1, Year 1 – Full-Time)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with complex Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey through tailored support and personalised care.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide attentive and compassionate one-to-one support to a Year 1 pupil with complex ASD needs.

Assist with access to the curriculum, differentiating tasks and adapting materials as needed.
*
Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence through positive reinforcement and structured routines.
*
Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and external specialists (e.g. speech and language therapists) to plan and deliver effective interventions.
*
Monitor progress and contribute to observations, record-keeping, and personalised learning plans.
*
Promote social, emotional, and communication development in alignment with the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
*
Support inclusion by facilitating the pupil’s engagement in group activities and peer interactions where appropriate.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
