Job Description
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking enthusiastic teaching assistants who are passionate about supporting children through their education. We are recruiting for the Chester-le-Street Area (DH2) starting ASAP.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the class teacher in delivering creative and effective lessons.
- Provide targeted help for individuals and small groups, ensuring every child can access learning.
- Assist with classroom management, preparation of resources, and learning displays.
- Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work in partnership with staff, parents, and specialists to meet the needs of all learners.
Requirements
- Has experience working with children aged 5–7 (or in a similar setting).
- Available Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Can adapt to different situations and respond positively to challenges.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Holds a minimum Level 2 TA qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
