1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support
Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Until the end of the academic year (July 2026)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at our welcoming mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young person’s educational journey by offering tailored support, encouragement, and consistency throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the pupil to support engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
Provide tailored academic and pastoral support under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCO.
Promote independence, resilience, and confidence both in and outside the classroom.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs (school or youth work experience desirable).
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient.
Show strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Be committed to helping every student achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
