SEMH Teaching Assistant - Sports Background Welcome
Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Nottinghamshire (NG31, near Grantham)
Pay: £90 - £103.90 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term with potential to go permanent
Are you a sports coach, athlete, or fitness professional based in or around Grantham, Newark, or Nottinghamshire and looking for a more meaningful career? Do you want to use your energy, teamwork and discipline to support young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?
This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in a specialist school in Nottinghamshire (NG31, Grantham area). The school provides a therapeutic and supportive learning environment, helping pupils build confidence, resilience and positive coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering tailored support 1:1 and in small groups
Helping students develop resilience, communication skills and confidence
Collaborating with teachers, therapists and support staff to provide personalised learning plans
Promoting a safe, structured and inclusive space where pupils feel supported and understood
We're Looking For:
Experience working with young people (sports coaching, mentoring, youth work or similar)
A calm, patient and encouraging personality
Resilience and the ability to build strong, positive relationships
No formal qualifications required - transferable skills and character are valued most
