Teaching Personnel are currently welcoming applications for a variety of Teaching Assistant positions across our partner primary and secondary schools within the Wigan area. We are seeking both experienced support staff and individuals new to education who are passionate about supporting young people and eager to begin or develop a rewarding career in schools.
Whether you are looking for flexible temporary work, a long-term placement, or a permanent opportunity, we can offer roles to suit your availability and experience.
Role Details:
Full-time and part-time Teaching Assistant positions available
Competitive pay rates with weekly earnings expected to be around £475 per week.
Support and training provided, with opportunities to gain a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification while you work
Roles available in both primary and secondary school settings
Start dates available immediately and throughout the academic year
Who should apply?
Experienced Teaching Assistants looking for new opportunities or long-term roles within supportive school environments
Recent graduates or individuals interested in gaining classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or specialist education
Those without prior school experience but with a genuine interest in education and a desire to learn while completing a recognised TA qualification
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the class teacher in maintaining an engaging and inclusive learning environment
Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to help them achieve their learning goals
Assisting with classroom management and providing general support across lessons
Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage positively with their learning
Our partner schools range from small village primaries to large, vibrant secondary schools across Wigan and nearby areas including Leigh, Hindley, Atherton, Golborne, and Ashton-in-Makerfield. All offer a supportive environment for both new and experienced Teaching Assistants.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
