Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and flexible Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across primary schools in South Somerset, including Yeovil and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s education, enjoy working in varied school environments, and are confident stepping into different classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across KS1 and KS2
*
Work with individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce learning
*
Assist with classroom organisation, resources, and displays
*
Help to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
*
Support children with additional needs, where required
*
Promote positive behaviour and uphold school safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
*
Experience working with primary-aged children (school-based or similar setting)
*
A proactive and flexible approach to working in different schools and settings
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
Ability to travel to schools across South Somerset
*
An understanding of safeguarding and the ability to follow school policies
*
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential
