Teaching Assistant - Secondary Support
Location: Barrow-In-Furness
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday

About the Role

We're recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a number of friendly and supportive secondary schools across the Barrow-In-Furness area.
These are well-established, inclusive schools with excellent leadership teams who truly value their support staff. You'll be part of a warm, collaborative environment where senior leaders and teachers provide ongoing support and guidance.
Your role will involve helping students reach their potential - whether that's through academic support in lessons, pastoral guidance, or helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting students in lessons to help them stay focused and engaged.
Providing 1:1 or small-group interventions to boost confidence and progress.
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
Encouraging students with mild learning, social, or emotional needs to reach their goals.
Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to support progress.
What We're Looking For
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, tutoring, or mentoring).
A genuine interest in education, child development, or SEND support.
Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
