We are working with a well-respected primary school that places therapeutic practice at the heart of everything they do. They are seeking an SEMH/EBD Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant to support pupils across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on children who require patience, consistency, and compassionate guidance to help them engage with learning. Whether you come from a mainstream or specialist background, your ability to support pupils with behavioural challenges and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs will be highly valued. Key Responsibilities Providing targeted support to pupils in KS1 and KS2 with SEMH/EBD needs Promoting a therapeutic, relational and trauma-informed approach to behaviour Maintaining a calm and steady presence to help pupils feel safe and understood Working alongside teaching staff and the pastoral team to support pupil progress Full-time position, Monday to Friday Temporary role with the potential to become permanent Person Specification Warm, patient, and emotionally resilient Confident in building positive relationships with children Able to remain calm, consistent, and reassuring under pressure Previous SEMH/EBD experience is desirable but not essential for the right individual Dedicated to helping children develop emotionally, socially, and academically About the School Supportive, friendly, and inclusive environment Experienced staff who champion therapeutic and child-centred practice Excellent transport links by both road and rail A nurturing setting where both staff and pupils flourish If you are motivated by the chance to make a genuine difference and want to work within a caring, forward-thinking school, we would be delighted to hear from you.
