The school is a primary school for children from ages 3 to 11 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, some of whom also have a diagnosis of ASD. The school is warm and welcoming and prides itself on nurturing a supportive and collaborative environment for all.
As a special needs teaching assistant, you will:
Be empathetic and compassionate
Take pride in assisting vulnerable young people and be invested in their development
Encourage students to be as independent as possible in all learning areas
Be willing to do personal care and support the children positively in all situationsAble to work well in a team and communicate well with adults and children
Have previous experience supporting young people with special needs
