Teaching Assistant – SEND Base – Lewisham
Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious Teaching Assistant to join a SEND base in Lewisham - specifically supporting complex needs and Autism to work on a long-term or short-term basis starting in September!
You’ll be joining an inclusive, brand new and supportive school that pride them self on an innovating approach to the educational practices, whilst maintaining a student centred and mindful approach.

What you’ll be doing in a Teaching Assistant – SEND Base:
* Learning support - Provide tailored learning support to students with autism and complex needs, including 1:1 and small group assistance.
* Behaviour and Emotional regulation support - Implement positive behaviour strategies and support students in managing their emotions. This includes recognising triggers, using calming techniques, and helping students transition smoothly between activities.
* Personal care and Independence building - Assist with personal care and encourage independence in daily routines and life skills
* Therapeutic and Specialist support - Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to implement individual learning and therapeutic plans.
Essential Qualifications for a Teaching Assistant – SEND Base:
* Experience Supporting Children with Autism or Complex Needs- Hands-on experience in a school or care setting working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions and learning difficulties.
* Relevant TA or Childcare Qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent) - A formal qualification in supporting teaching and learning, childcare, or special education.
* Strong Behaviour Management and Communication Skills - Ability to implement positive behaviour strategies, communicate clearly, and support emotional regulation.
* Enhanced DBS Clearance (or willingness to obtain one) - Must meet safeguarding requirements and be eligible to work with children and vulnerable individuals.
