Teaching Assistant – SEND | South Leeds
Salary: £90 - £110 FTE (Depends on experience & sparkle)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours a week – school-friendly and home-life approved!
Do you speak fluent calm under pressure? Know the power of a reassuring nod? Can spot a sensory overload a mile off and already have a plan B? Then read on, TA superstar... this one’s for you.
We’re working with a specialist school in South Leeds (yes, there’s a bus stop nearby!) that supports children and young people with autism and a wide mix of complex needs. It’s a brilliant setting with a big heart, and they’re on the lookout for Teaching Assistants who can bring kindness, consistency, and maybe even a sense of humour to the classroom.
Here’s the vibe:
Small class sizes (6–9 pupils)
A cracking team of teachers and pastoral pros
A genuine community feel where families are part of the journey
Opportunities to work across both Primary and Secondary phases
Your day-to-day might look like:
Being the teacher’s right-hand legend – in the classroom, on the corridor and at hometime.
Helping pupils access learning (and feel proud doing it)
Setting up resources, tidying away, and keeping the learning spaces ready for learning
Learning loads on the job about what works in SEND—and the why
We’d love to hear from you if:
You’re curious, compassionate, and ready to learn
You can stay calm in a room that’s… not all that calm
You’re a team player who can bring the good vibes
You either have (or are happy to get) an enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS
What you’ll get in return:
Support that doesn’t stop at “you’re booked”
Access to FREE CPD including SEND essentials and Team teach training.
Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella companys snipping away at your pay...
Proper recognition and development—because you matter just as much as the teacher does
✨ Bonus points if you’re Thrive-trained. If not? We’ll sort you out for free. It’s a brilliant way to stand out and show you’re emotionally savvy too.
Sound like your kind of place? Hit apply and let’s chat. Whether this is your first SEND role or your fiftieth, we’ll support you all the way.
Go on, make that Monday morning feel a little less… Monday-ish.
