Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism in a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) attached to a mainstream primary school in the CF11 area of Cardiff.

About the Role:
Location: SRB within a primary school in CF11
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Start Date: September 2025 (with opportunities for trial days in July)
Role Type: Ongoing with the potential to become long-term or permanent
Focus: 1:1 support for a pupil with autism, working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo to implement strategies tailored to the child’s individual needs
Duties include:
Supporting the pupil with classroom tasks and learning activities
Managing sensory and emotional regulation needs
Promoting communication and social interaction
Supporting during transitions and play
Providing personal care where required (e.g., toileting, hygiene support)
Contributing to EHCP reviews and progress tracking
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with autism and/or additional learning needs (preferred)
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
Confidence in managing behaviours using positive, proactive strategies
A nurturing attitude and ability to build strong relationships
Willingness to support with personal care
Ability to work effectively within a team and follow individual support plans
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, or Team Teach training are advantageous but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
