Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational provision in Littlehampton that supports boys aged 8–16 (Years 4–11) with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). This setting offers a nurturing and structured environment where students are supported to grow both academically and personally. The school places a strong emphasis on building positive relationships, helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to become responsible individuals. The Role This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and resilient individual to support students in their day-to-day learning and development. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support that meets each young person’s needs. Key Responsibilities Provide classroom and one-to-one support for students Assist with the delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons Support positive behaviour management strategies Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils Promote emotional wellbeing and personal development Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (particularly SEMH/SEBD) A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people Desirable (but not essential): Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or youth work Experience within specialist or alternative provision settings What’s on Offer: The opportunity to work in a supportive and dedicated team Ongoing training and development opportunities A highly rewarding role making a real difference in young people’s lives How to Apply If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please submit your CV along with a short covering statement outlining your experience and suitability.
