About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in the CH46 area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people.
You will work closely with classroom teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who present with a range of behavioural, emotional, and social challenges. Your role will be key in helping these students access learning, regulate their emotions, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs
Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored learning activities
Help create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Promote positive behaviour through clear boundaries and consistent routines
Support students in managing emotions and developing self-regulation strategies
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies as required
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
Can build positive and trusting relationships with students
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of individual pupils
Has a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being
Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to get one
Desirable but not essential:
Experience in a PRU, SEN, or alternative provision setting
Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed practice
