Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Blaenau Gwent starting this September. About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum. Working closely with classroom teachers, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support to individual students, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support classroom teaching and supervise learning activities
Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources
Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with varying needs
Foster positive relationships with students to aid their progress and well-being
Promote and encourage positive behaviour and engagement
Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff
Help maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive learning environment
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience in a secondary school setting or in a learning support role is highly desirable
Skills: Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Personal Qualities: Friendly, empathetic, patient, and proactive
Behaviour Support: Experience with de-escalation techniques or working with students with challenging behaviour is a bonus
