Job Description

Location: Caerphilly Role Requirements – Teaching Assistants (Enhanced DBS on updates) Shift requirement: • Ad hoc (1 day shifts) • Ad hoc requirements at any one time • Cover shifts, in the Education year (peaks and trough, could see more with sick leave) Candidate Requirements: Need to have ALN - (additional learning needs) experience ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION -NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience. -GCSE English and Maths A – C or equivalent. KNOWLEDGE -Training in the relevant strategies e.g. literacy and/or in particular curriculum or learning area e.g. dyslexia, ICT, Maths, English etc -Full working knowledge of relevant national/foundation phase curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies. -Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes. SKILLS Effective use of ICT to support learning. EXPERIENCE Experience of working with children of relevant age. OTHER -Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities. -Ability to relate well with children and adults. -Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
