Job Title: Team Leader
Reports To: Registered Manager
About the Role
As a Team Leader, you’ll support the care team and help ensure children in the home are safe, supported, and engaged. You’ll lead shifts, supervise staff, and help maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily shifts and make sure children are safe and involved in activities
* Follow each child’s care and placement plans
* Support children’s education and wellbeing
* Help children manage their behaviour and understand their rights
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment
Team Support
* Guide and support residential care staff
* Supervise designated staff and record supervisions
* Make sure staff follow policies, procedures, and rotas
* Ensure incidents and concerns are reported properly
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
* Take part in sleep-in duties when needed
Staff Development
* Help staff with training and personal development
* Raise any concerns about staff performance with the Registered Manager
* Encourage staff to follow their training plans
General Duties
* Attend meetings and training sessions
* Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home
* Be flexible with working hours
* Follow health and safety rules
* Promote equality, inclusion, and diversity
* Safeguard children and follow all relevant procedures
* Carry out other tasks as needed to support the home
