Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care (SEBD)
Location: Delph, Manchester
Pay: £14.99 per hour + £78.30 per sleep-in (typically 8–10 sleep-ins per month)

Shift Pattern: 24-hour shifts (1 on, 2 off) with sleep-ins
Are you an experienced Team Leader in residential childcare looking to take on a meaningful new role? We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Team Leader to join our team in a well-established SEBD children’s residential home in Delph, Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs in a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment.
As a Team Leader, you’ll play a crucial role in the daily running of the home, supporting both young people and staff to ensure the highest standards of care and support are delivered at all times.
Key Responsibilities of the Team Leader:

Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day operations of the children’s home.

Lead and mentor Residential Support Workers during shifts, ensuring consistent, high-quality care.
*
Act as a role model for positive behaviour and therapeutic approaches in an SEBD setting.
*
Support the physical, emotional, and social development of children aged 8–17.
*
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and reported accurately.
*
Oversee routines, daily logs, behaviour management plans, and risk assessments.
*
Promote a positive team culture focused on resilience, consistency, and trauma-informed care.
*
Engage in direct work with young people, promoting independence, structure, and emotional wellbeing.
*
Liaise with professionals including social workers, education providers, and health services.
Requirements for the Team Leader Role:

Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
*
At least 1–2 years’ experience in residential childcare, ideally in SEBD environments.
*
Previous experience in a Team Leader or senior support role is desirable.
*
Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development.
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and behaviour management skills.
*
Ability to work 24-hour shifts including regular sleep-ins.
*
