Job Description
Manufacturing Team Leader – Electrical Production Melsonby | Up to £34,000 | Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30 | Friday 07:30–14:30
A well-established manufacturing business is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Team Leader to join their Electrical Production site in Melsonby.
This isn't a desk role. You'll be on the floor, doing the work, leading the team and keeping production moving. If you're the person others naturally turn to when something needs sorting, this is built for you.
The Role
You'll work closely with the Production Manager to keep daily operations running safely, on time and to standard. Roughly 60% of your time will be hands-on electro-mechanical assembly the remaining 40% is coordinating people, workflow and quality.
You're the go-to on shift. The link between the operators and management. The person who spots problems before they become bigger ones.
What You'll Be Doing
* Hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and production work
* Leading and supporting a team of assembly operators day-to-day
* Coordinating tasks in line with the production plan
* Overseeing Traffic Controller production, testing and quality checks
* Driving safety and quality standards across the team
* Supporting continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing activity
* Training, developing and motivating your team
What We're Looking For
* 3+ years' hands-on experience in electro-mechanical production or assembly
* Experience as a Lead Operator, Senior Operator or informal team lead
* Strong practical problem-solving and a proactive, lead-from-the-front mindset
* Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or CI principles
* Comfortable working to documented processes and production plans
* Basic IT literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
