JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Team Leader for our friendly Bedford site. The role is 70% time on task within the warehouse, with locking up duties and cover for Supervisors where needed.

It’s the ideal opportunity for someone with some team management exposure and experience to grow their skills within a supportive and varied environment.

The hours for this role are 2:30pm – 11pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within the role, the following are the kinds of tasks and responsibilities that will be included. If you spot something that you’re not able to do, or you haven’t come across before, that is OK. We don’t expect candidates to know how to do everything on this list.

Work with the Supervisor in order to understand their requirements and expectations and acting as the senior Metro Supply Chain staff on the shop floor.

Understand our customers’ issues and help drive business improvements.

Support the managers and other supervisors in their roles.

To support personal development, motivate staff within framework of Job Descriptions.

Optimise the utilisation of all assets across the operations.

To ensure that all staff on site operate within all current legislation.

Work with Managers and / or Supervisors to ensure H&S management best practice is applied, and investigations.

Ensure staff act and conduct themselves in a safe manner in accordance with H&S Guidelines.

Ensure site housekeeping is carried out regularly.

Ensure MHE is checked daily before use.

Support the team to ensure that stock records are kept accurate and up to date.

Ensure operational activities (intake, put away, pick, pack, label, despatch) are conducted in an accurate and timely manner.

Monitor and manage staff productivity and accuracy in line with customer requirements.

Understand the required labour needed to complete daily activities and ensure that the resource is in place to achieve them.

Cover for the Supervisor as required.

Health and Safety

Without compromise maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Report any hazards in the workplace to management immediately.

Complete all training provided in a timely manner.

Follow all laws and policies applicable.

Promote and support social initiatives driven by other team members.

EXPERIENCE:

With excellent communication skills, the Team Leader will have strong attention to detail, have a customer-focused mindset, and be able to demonstrate good leadership skills.
