Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a permanent Team Leader, to work in the Tower Hamlets area. The service provides support to mothers and babies and young people aged 18 plus who are making their transitions to adulthood and actively building skills to live independently.
The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week, working Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM. Flexibility is required to occasionally work outside of these hours including weekends. This is a permanent role. The salary is £32,084.50 per annum.
Please note: You will be required to work across three services, two based in Bethnal Green and one in Lime House.
In this position, you will be expected to;
* Manage and supervise 4 staff, providing best practice, appraisals and coaching
* Engage with the staff team to provide a safe and welcoming environment within the psychologically informed environment for vulnerable residents
* Manage records and referrals; ensuring booking in process is completed including induction of new residents, and empower staff to Interview new referrals, and complete the booking in process
* Oversee delivery, and maintain accommodations health and safety standards, escalating when not meeting acceptable condition
* Work with staff and residents to generate resettlement options, communicating with key partner agencies, accommodating multidisciplinary case conferences and negotiating access to secure move-on options
* Support your team to enable young people to maximise benefits and assist with managing money, following finance and policy procedures
* Work with Partner Landlords Housing Management Services and facilitate effective communication between the resident and Housing Officers
* Ensure the effective reduction of risks, identifying symptoms and triggers of risk, referring to specialists and raise safeguarding when necessary
* Develop links with a wide range of internal and external partners including statutory and voluntary organisations, liaising and attending meetings with relevant stakeholders
* Conduct house meetings with residents, promoting involvement with services and feedback of social and educational opportunities, done through assessments and schemes
* Participate in the On call rota
To apply for this role candidates must have;
* Extensive experience of working with young people in a hostel setting
* Knowledges of the challenges and support required for young people
* The ability to motivate and provide a person centred service that meets the principals of being psychologically informed
* Experience with housing management, budgets, and managing staff
* Knowledge of housing and social care law
* The ability to engage with clients and staff
* Experience of contract monitoring
* The ability to maintain good relationships with stakeholders
* Knowledge of and ability to provide constructive and appropriate psychosocial actions for young people using recognised models
* The ability to hold line management responsibilities
* Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and child in need arrangements and how to implement them within the current system
* The ability to implement Health and Safety Policies, including lone working
* Proficiently in the use of IT systems and knowledge of computer applications and other industry-specific software
* Able to respond to on-call emergencies for residents

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
