Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Team Leader for a high-support supported living service for 11 adults with complex mental health diagnoses in Sutton. Our client is an established charity which provides high quality accommodation and support for adults living with enduring mental health conditions. Their purpose is to help people on their journey to mental wellness, purpose, and independence. Supported housing provides crucial help to some of the most vulnerable people in our country. It can have an enormous positive impact on an individual’s quality of life: from their physical and mental health to their engagement with the community. As an organisation our client is continually improving and encouraging their teams to succeed and always looking for new ways they can help those they support to reach their goals. Their approach is collaborative, with individuals reassured they are a genuine partner in their own care and recovery. Our client recognises the importance of lived experience when working with service users with complex needs and welcome applications from individuals who have first-hand experience of mental ill health. As Team Leader you will work alongside your team and undertake support sessions for the service users using a trauma informed approach. Acting as deputy to the Service Manager and providing management cover in their absence you will ensure the effective and safe running of the service. Your focus will be on service user support, and you will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure that the organisation delivers on all targets, both financial and those around the quality of the service. As Team Leader you will work across 7-days on a variable shift pattern, this will include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. 3 long days working 07:45 to 23:00 (14.25hrs per shift due to 1 hour unpaid lunch break) = 42.75hrs per week. You will work alongside the Keyworkers (whose shifts are identical) RESPONSIBILITIES: What you'll do: * Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture. * Deliver effective supervision, appraisal and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting, and communication is effective. * Participate in staff recruitment, ensuring induction processes are followed and that the probation period for all new staff is rewarding, effective and managed robustly. * Be responsible for the personal development of staff, identifying high performers and feeding into the organisation’s succession plans. * Be responsible for managing poor/under performance. Working with HR to ensure interventions are timely and effective. * Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly. * To take responsibility and proactively manage financial reporting including monitoring and reporting void levels. * Be responsible for maintaining quality standards in your services ensuring that all internal and external regulations are met. * Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of our service users. * To develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant external partners to support continuous improvement of services and service development. * To participate in the delivery of awareness sessions on a range of topics for all service delivery staff * Carry out other tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Area Manager. * To work flexibly across the services and deliver an out of hours on-call service. * Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to the Area Manager. * Ensure the organisation's Health and Safety policies are always adhered to and to uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols. * Adhere to all the policies and procedures of the organisation plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements. Any other reasonable duties consistent with the responsibilities of this post as agreed with the line manager. Enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
