Residential Team Leader – Children’s Learning Disabilities Service
Dudley
£14.99 per hour

Claire at Amber Mace is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading care provider for an exciting new Residential Team Leader opportunity at a brand-new Children’s Learning Disabilities Service based in Dudley.
This is a fantastic chance to join a newly opened 8-bedded service that provides exceptional care and support to children and young people aged 3–18 with a range of learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex health needs, and emotional or behavioural challenges.

The Role
As the Residential Team Leader, you will:
Support the Manager and Deputy Manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the service.
Lead and manage shifts, ensuring staff are supported and the needs of children are met at all times.
Plan rotas and daily activities, ensuring appointments, routines, and delegated duties are well organised.
Administer, order, and audit medication in line with care plans and policies.
Undertake training to communicate effectively with non-verbal children, using Makaton, PECS, Smart Box, or other tools.
Support children with physical, emotional, behavioural, and educational needs, including specific health and medication requirements (e.g. PEG feeding, rescue meds).
Act as a positive role model, promoting inclusion, independence, and community participation.
Ensure a safe, nurturing environment where children are supported to reach their full potential.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities or complex needs.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team within a care setting.
Understanding of child development and behavioural support strategies.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
A patient, empathetic, and compassionate approach to care.
A full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
